My personal opinion:
Even Western warmongers in Europe, through their imperial conquests from before to after the industrial revolution, have learnt that every non-combatant you kill creates 10 more combatants because nothing steels resolve against invaders like murdered innocents.
Which is why England, bastards as they were and are, are famous for their speaking three-sides out of their mouths and pitting brother against brother, not genociding every land they touch.
Even Americans, as heedless to lessons of history as they have been, were forced to learn that lesson in the Gulf wars since the 1990s, and their own generals have written about that.
It is only Israel, and their puppet strings on Americans, who learnt of that fact, and decided that means they must turn every war into genocide instead. He who lives by the sword dies by the sword, and they will only draw the fate they think they should enact on every other people back onto themselves.

Hezbollah Fighters Raise Flags in Israeli Territory – Kiryat Shmona Partially Captured, IDF in Retreat
Hezbollah forces have broken through Israeli defenses and are now raising their flags inside the strategic northern town of Kiryat Shmona.
Israeli Channel 13 is confirming that parts of the town and its main IDF base are under Hezbollah control. Local residents are fleeing in panic as fighting continues in the streets.
This marks the first time a significant Israeli population center has come under direct Hezbollah control during active conflict.
The Israeli army is reported to be retreating from several positions to avoid further losses. The Home Front Command has ordered immediate evacuation of remaining civilians in the area.
Iranian state media hailed the advance as “the resistance breaking the Zionist lines.”
