I fully agree that whoever murdered that CEO should be charged and face trial by jury.

That being said, if I was on the jury, based on my current knowledge and understanding, I would not be able to recommend a guilty verdict.

If we are going to live within the framework we've built, the system must have integrity and so he should face trial. But the system and framework was never meant to be apart from humanity, so the difficult nuances of human reality should be present in the verdict.

I mean....

The unfortunate reality is that both parties, the customer and the game company, are culpable and both share blame

Personally I don't play any game with microtransactions.

I'm only interested in games I can purchase outright and then own*. If there's large scale DLC that's fine, great even, but if there's some in-game way to spend money that isn't restricted to a DLC button/section, then I'm not interested.

I want to play games, not be inundated by constant sales opportunities.

*I'm aware I don't "own" most game due to the stupidity of licensing, and while I don't love that, I can acknowledge it's still a different and better thing that games that constantly push microtransactions

Exactly why she's not a leader. A leader understand that you don't have time to lick you wounds when the enemy is at your door. She should be fighting harder now, not sulking.

No, I thought of them the prior day, it's just a crazy coincidence you mention them the day after I rediscovered them. I'll check out Floor though!

Alright, valid, you're right, the presented limiting factor in the meme is in fact the SoL and not actually man's ability to reach it. I concede, cheers.

That was a great video. I don't know that I 100% agree with the simplified conclusion, especially as I don't think heavy is always inherently at odds with "pop," (just look at bands like Limp Bizkit; they certainly aren't the heaviest band around I'd argue they're almost equally as heavy as they are pop), but it was a tremendous exploration regardless and I think I probably still agree like 90% anyway. I'd watched a few 12tone videos before, but one specific songs (Sympathy for the Devil, The Middle, Free Fallin'), but this was a better video than those were, imo.

Except that a large point of my comment is pointing out the hubris of man, so it's important to note that ants are not hyperintelligent. They organize and build, but there is a finite limitation to their capability, at least in this and any known previous state of their evolution. Like that we are the most intelligent thing on our little planet doesn't imply to me that we are not effectively to scale with ants on the cosmic level.

So weird quick story, I was introduced to three albums I adore by this absolute hurricane of a woman who had a brief but impactful presence in my life. One of them was Tyler the Creator's Bastard, another was Thou's Tyrant, and for years I have been trying to remember the third album, only able to remember that it was amazing stoner sludge and had something to do with cavemen. Cut to literally yesterday morning and out of nowhere like a lightning bolt it suddenly hit me all at once: Meanderthal!

So anyway, Torche kick enormous ass, I'm so happy to finally be reunited with them, and I spent basically all yesterday listening to them (mostly Meanderthal again and Admission).

Of course, but I'm trying to work within the established framework of the meme here
