Ukraine stopped placating Trump about a year ago, focused on their own military capacity and this strategy pays out pretty well at the moment. Which IS a monumental shift.

Yep, agreed with the previous commenter. +18 means that temperature is 18°C higher than the norm for June (in that area) Ireland swelters under 26° and full sun, which is definitely unusual here, it should be 15°C and rainy.

AI craze in "Europe" (not all Europe) is another example of some people blindly following USA for no real reasons. There is political fight right now and we have to decide whether we will forge our own better destiny or fall prey to American ruling class of tech bros, billionaires and conservatives who are their executive branch.

Oh, come on. No acceleration IST actually caused that problem. Ignoring hundreds of small problems for the sake of profit and sloth caused it. And it's not really worse than the alternative, just a bit different

Oh, I like these initiatives - when they were moving a puppet theatre in my city they recycled a lot of materials and made an exhibition about that process

Frankly, if you think about it for a moment, the way this article characterises trying to be less dependent on fossil fuels (and petrostates) is quite insane.

Solution might also lie in history - some old food varieties are more resilient and less fertilizer and resource dependent than what we currently use (Eating to extinction " comes to mind)

Yes. More varied plant based diet are a little harder to achieve than standardised western diet because it can't be that easily industrialised, yeld oriented and easily managed and controlled.

The are shrinking the protected areas along the railway - the whole thing is obviously not just about the train but about clearing more forest for soy farms (and making the process more profitable because trains are indeed MUCH more cost efficient than trucks)
