@thal3s when townies in this city age (Las Vegas), they often look like shoe leather or beef jerky, making it hard to tell if they’re 65 or 400

@thal3s the timing of this is in my feed is spooky. I was at a Walmart around 9:00AM trying to access the vitamin section. Of course there was a 177 year old townie woman comparing vitamin brands as if she would be able to make an informed decision from the labels alone. Then I noticed there was one in every isle. Male variants too. As they near end of life they must go where they feel most comfortable, drawn to fluorescent lights and surveillance capitalism.
@Mickey7 I’m biased because alcohol has cost me loved ones and 90% of my personal experiences under the influence ended badly. I also learned that Putin eliminated social reforms in Russia so that he could sell his vodka and increase control of the population. Organizers had worked hard for those reforms to curb death rates. “Consumption” is a cute way of saying death by alcohol. Big alcohol can fuck off and I hope they go bankrupt. The sooner the better.
@Five this is fascinating. I’m sure I’m not alone in this: even just the internal bureaucracy and culture within a company suppresses (smothers) people, and, in some cases, deliberately prevents them from doing what they’re best at. I’m sure the theoretical free plumber you mentioned would be seen as a threat to the livelihoods of 50 different hedge fund backed outfits here in Las Vegas (Goettl for example…🖕you Goettl).
@DarkMetatron @Geki do you have inside knowledge of more countries you speak of? Stop spreading FUD and face the problem head on. You Germans have earned a reputation for intolerance of fascism and Nazi sympathizers in your own land. Get out there and protest such laws instead of musing online about the decline of freedom as if it’s a forgone conclusion. These laws are pushed by scum to chip away at freedom. They do not protect anyone.
