Yes, being vocal and public your cancelation/leaving is really important to make clear why this is happening.

At least you can still easily side load with Android, for the time being.

Export all iCloud data, generate local backups for all of your iOS devices, cancel iCloud subscription, and most importantly, tell Apple why you canceled via their public social media channels.
