Ah, apparently I confused it with slippery nipple. Butterscotch liqueur seems great too, though, plus the Irish cream is still there. (Irish cream is one of my favs, I kind of regret learning how to make it at home because I drink it a bit too much, too often.)

Minimise contact, stand your ground, don't give him any bargaining chip against you, get people on your side, and watch out for people who might enable his behaviour.

How you do those things is up to you, because they depend a lot of different factors.

That makes it even worse.

You're laughing but I'm a victim of cannabis!

I used to live with someone who smoke it on a regular basis. One day I went to bed, and my room-mate stayed on the garden, smoking his joint. When I woke up, the sandwich I prepared for my breakfast was... gone.

Are you getting the full picture? An addict stole the sustenance of a poor victim, due to his illegal psychoactive substance usage! Cannabis is danger! Cannabis is steal! Don't cannabis! ~~Or if you do, prepare the munchies beforehand.~~

[To be fair with him, on the same day he prepared me a way better sandwich as apology. And it isn't like I went to the uni hungry, at morning I just whipped up some egg farofa and problem solved.]

I think the coloured stuff is supposed to be the room background, not hallu.

Without capitalism the increase in cost would be smaller for sure, but depending on the item it would be still meaningful. For example, the dining table from the article still needs a hydraulic system to go up and down, that isn't exactly cheap.

Instead I feel like the biggest harm of capitalism is shoving the tech even where it doesn't make sense to have it, and then telling people they need it. You don't need a smart toilet when a simple button does the trick.

There are four imperatives you could use here:

  • kauf or kaufe - used with "du" (informal, singular)
  • kauft - used with "ihr" (informal, plural)
  • kaufen - used with "Sie" (formal, sing. or plural)

All four would be grammatically correct here, but using the informal forms towards someone who you aren't acquainted with sounds a bit too bossy, too rude. So I'd recommend using the "Sie" forms instead.

I also recommend changing the verb. As @superkret@feddit.org said, the Nazi used the slogan "Kauft nicht bei Juden" (don't buy from Jews), and the association is still strong.

I think that both things are at play here - what you said about regulatory failure, and rejection of the tech. And they're interconnected.

A more complex system (with more parts and/or more complex parts) will have more points of failure, and failures will be harder to fix. And while a lot of this additional complexity is caused by that greed that you're talking about, some is intrinsic - for example if you want lights that turn on/off from a cell phone, you need some sensor in the lightbulb, that wouldn't exist otherwise, and that sensor can and will break.

PTB.

Like, I get not wanting "political" content in your instance. But guess what, everything has a political side! And the comment is completely related to the topic at hand (Garcia being kicked by force from one dictatorship into another, with no proofs that he would be a mara).

What if you were to say instead "buy from Europe"? I don't speak Lithuanian but "pirk iš Europos" sounds a bit more succinct.

Man, hiro did absolutely no maintenance on the site after buying it from moot, did he?

Not like moot was any better, he let the site be infested with those pieces of shit from stormfront, and even created a whole new cancer-infested board for them.

This infographic is still incomplete; I'm posting it here in the hope that I can get some feedback about it. It has three goals:

  1. To explain what federation is. No technobabble, just a simple analogy with houses and a neighbourhood.
  2. To explain why federation is good for users.
  3. [TODO] Specific info about the Fediverse, plus some really simple FAQ.

Criticism is welcome as long as constructive.

EDIT: OK, too much text. I'm clipping as much as I can.
