Hey same childhood! My dad would yell at the top of his lungs at my mom and call her a stupid removed and she would sit there and take it and then silently cry in the kitchen and then ground me when I tried to hug her 🙂

Learned the shit out of computers. They’re the only things in my life that don’t yell at me (if we ignore error messages).

Aww I'm sorry that both of your parents were like that. Luckily my mom is a very sweet person.

And hey! I'm a fellow computer dork too! I'm nowhere near the level of knowledge of many Lemmy users, but I've always been a casual tech/gadget fan since I was a kid. But somehow I never fully built my own PC until just the other day. Was actually a pretty simple process and things today are so much better at plug and play as opposed to long ago. Hope you're still enjoying being a tech nerd haha!

Ya building computers is trivial :) just expensive Lego really. Built my first gaming pc when I moved out and have built a couple more since then. My original gaming pc is now my home server :) lots to learn!
