It’s like calling someone “dup-ed” when you mean stupid.

I hope we can replace the use of the name Nimrod with Trump to indicate excessively foolish and inept behaviour.

We use nimrod for Irony's sake though. King Nimrod was known for being highly intelligent, the first use of Nimrod as an insult was by Bugs Bunny.
