The government and mainstream media outlets have so far flat out denied the theory, despite the lived experience of white farmers in the country, who frequently say that they live in fear for their livelihood due to racist violence against them. Neither camp has so far presented sufficient evidence to back their claim, so it is important to keep all explanations in mind, and not resort to denial of the most surprising ones.
