Kamala was VP under Biden, who like Obama gave billions to Israel to murder Palestinians. Even tho the majority of people oppose the war, they get this anyway.

The US is not a democracy, it's a capitalist dictatorship.

[–] Zerush@lemmy.ml 2 points 2 months ago

It never was a democracy

So you’re trying to tell me it would’ve been the same and/or worse under Kamala? I want some of whatever you’re on…

I get it’s not ideal, but you’ve got millions of idiots here in the US that couldn’t give a shit about Palestine. I’m not one of the ones you need to convince of this. I just voted for the better of the two options this time around considering the stakes. Voted Bernie Sanders in both 2016 and 2020.

Edit: wonder if you’ll still feel the same way once the special needs orangutan and his best buddy Netanyahu turn Gaza into a strip mall or golf course….

That's exactly what I'm trying to tell you

Pretty sure what they meant is same for Palestine.

However it would be without the blatant authoritarian BS going on that hurts people in the US even more.

If your end goal is the fall of US as the result of this, then fair, and I do hope this doesn't lead to the worst outcome possible - a third world war.

That was kind of the critical issue going on. There was this whole movement to get some kind of course change on Israel. Biden made it clear there was a higher chance of Trump changing course on Israel. Kamala insisted she would not change course from Biden.

It really didn't work out for their campaign.

[–] elatedCatfish@lemm.ee -1 points 2 months ago* (last edited 2 months ago) (1 children)

Changing course - as in changing Gaza into a golf course?

He literally called Biden a “very bad Palestinian” in their debate lol as if that was an insult. Y’all are whacked out of your minds

[–] alkbch@lemmy.ml 1 points 2 months ago (1 children)

I suggest you pay attention to actions rather than words. Trump brokered a peace deal in 10 days when Biden refused to do so in over a year.

[–] elatedCatfish@lemm.ee -2 points 2 months ago* (last edited 2 months ago) (1 children)

Damn, Trump brought peace to the Middle East? News to me lol. As far as I’m aware, Israelis are still slaughtering Palestinians

Maybe he should work some of his magic with Ukraine and Russia

Edit: why is this dude still protesting if Trump brought peace hah

[–] alkbch@lemmy.ml 1 points 2 months ago (1 children)

Trump brokered a peace deal between Palestinians and Israeli which stopped, or at the very least paused, the genocide for almost two months now. Are you suggesting the situation was better under Biden?

He is also currently working towards a ceasefire between Ukraine and Russia.

This dude is protesting because despite the stop of the genocide, the occupation of Palestine by Israel continues.

What happens when it falls through again in a week or two? And all things considered, of course it was going to be worse under Biden. That was in the months immediately following 10/7 which of course was going to be the time for the crazy response from Israel…

Seems off you’re liking Trump on this when literally this post started with him illegally detaining and trying to deport US-Palestinians

[–] eldavi@lemmy.ml 1 points 2 months ago* (last edited 2 months ago) (1 children)

acknowledging that trump reduced the genocide where biden didn't bother is not the same thing as liking trump

[–] onecarmel@lemmy.world 1 points 2 months ago* (last edited 2 months ago)

Biden didn’t do squat because he could barely get out of bed. They called him Sleepy Joe for a reason…. Dude took more vacation days than anyone in the world because he was old and supposedly had dementia

[–] alkbch@lemmy.ml 0 points 2 months ago (2 children)

If it falls through again in a week or two, I have more faith in the Trump administration to potentially bring peace again than in the Biden administration. Biden was unwilling to use any serious leverage in order to get the Israeli government to stop the genocide.

I don’t like Trump. I merely acknowledge he has been far more successful in stopping the genocide compared to Biden. I do not agree with the Trump administration illegally detaining people.

[–] onecarmel@lemmy.world -1 points 2 months ago (2 children)

Damn, didn’t even take a week

[–] alkbch@lemmy.ml 1 points 2 months ago (1 children)

Yes it’s very unfortunate, but we got almost a two month ceasefire which we wouldn’t have gotten with the Biden administration…

[–] onecarmel@lemmy.world 0 points 2 months ago (1 children)

The Biden admin initiated that ceasefire talk, you know that… right?

[–] alkbch@lemmy.ml -1 points 2 months ago

Yes they did, in May 2024, Netanyahu immediately rejected it and the Biden administration refused to apply any meaningful pressure, which is why there was no deal until Steven Witkoff got involved.

Still more than the Democrats managed
