I'll save you a click: 7,100 Cybertrucks sold in the US in the first quarter of 2025. Another 10,000 trucks remain unsold. Last year Tesla sold fewer than 40,000 of them. This is way below the 500,000 per year Musk predicted.

He actually thought he could sell that many wtf.. that's half the amount of Corollas sold each year and they are in over 130 countries, what was he high on when he came up with this metric.

If there is some special K laying around, Elon is gonna do it!

[–] klu9@piefed.social 2 points 1 week ago

"Elon, you special, k?"

Coke Zero. You are what you drink.

God, so few and yet so fucking many on my daily commute. Each one of them a worse driver than the last.

I'm trying to think of any other vehicle that's flopped this hard in sales and I'm drawing a blank.

Couldn't have happened to a better target.

The Fiat Multipla, widely regarded as a fucking ugly piece of useless trash was a worldwide failure, because it looked like this:

It sold 70k in the first year (EDIT: in europe)

[–] Justas@sh.itjust.works 18 points 1 week ago (1 children)

That car was ugly, but it didn't cost a fortune, was relatively safe and wouldn't get bricked after having a car wash.

[–] Tar_alcaran@sh.itjust.works 4 points 1 week ago

Well yeah, It was ugly and dumb (here's a 6-person car, hope none of you have any bags), but it wasn't a deathtrap.

[–] k0e3@lemmy.ca 10 points 1 week ago

Lol it reminds me of the Homer.

[–] pulsewidth@lemmy.world 6 points 1 week ago

Wowzers. Yep that is ugly as hell. I'd still be more embarrassed to be driving around in a Cybertruck though, and I love electric vehicles.

I feel like raising the height of the hood so it lines up with the bottom of the windshield would instantly fix this car.

Don't know if that would create frontal visibility issues though.

[–] kazerniel@lemmy.world 4 points 1 week ago (1 children)

For me it loops around, it's so ugly it's kinda cute :D

(while the Cybertruck is just plain ugly)

[–] Sturgist@lemmy.ca 3 points 1 week ago

Looks kinda like a duck. Paint it duckling yellow and the hood orange and you can drive in harvest parades!

Its being outperformed by the Aztek, this thing is... god, words fail me.

[–] Grimtuck@lemmy.world 5 points 1 week ago (1 children)

The Delorian! That failed so hard. Although it will be way more highly regarded thanks to Back to the Future.

[–] pulsewidth@lemmy.world 4 points 1 week ago

Hard to believe the Delorian was such a flop when they're so sought after now.

The Edsel? That was a whole new division, not just one model.

"Predictions" necessitate evidence to base them on. These are garden-variety "guesses pulled from the ass of a drug-addled fascist".
