I went to Bible camp my entire childhood, can count the numbers of Sundays missed on a single hand my first 18 years of life, was a born again Christian, and a chaplain's assistant in the Army. If you want to measure bone fides.
If you claim to be "Christian" why wear a label that shows you're part of the problem?
So you're cool with gays? Neat. Understand evolution? Awesome. Accept that vaccines actually work? Good for you. Hell, you might even understand women are not walking incubators. You've met the bare fucking minimum for being considered literate.
I'm going to finish with a statement and a question. There is no heaven, when you die, you're dead. What is your heaven?
You make a fucktonne of unwarranted assumptions so let me clear some of them up right now.
I don't care that your parents made you go to church, that doesn't make your arguments valid or objective. I have zero to say about you being born again, that's between you and JC, but you sure as hell don't sound like you have a personal relationship. It sounds a lot like your bitter at a lifetime of performative cosplay.
Ok well I've been arrested for protesting in favor of gay marriage, spent 12 years volunteering at a free, all-welcome and radically inclusive addiction recovery program, got teargassed twice at Occupy Wallstreet, and have voted in every election local and national since 1986, and that's not even a quarter of what I do for human rights
You may be right, I never claimed otherwise. I certainly have no concrete objective proof that you will accept about an afterlife, nor do I even claim the supernatural exists. You can look at my entire post history and I challenge you to find a post where I make this claim.
On the other hand, I DO personally believe something beyond what we currently understand exists and it directly relates to consciousness, and a LOT of the implications of this align directly with what Jesus taught about the kind of life we should strive to live.
Does that mean existence after death? I have no idea and am more focusing on living a life more like JC as much as I am able. And as much as I have followed in his footsteps, it has made my life more fulfilling and peaceful and connected me to many good and kind people.
