There is more to life you know? When will liberals learn.

Edit: I changed the title so that people will understand what I am getting at. It is important to realise that economic anxiety trumps other concerns, especially in the growing wealth inequality and the overt shows of oligarchic rule. As Franklin Roosevelt said: People who are hungry and out of a job are the stuff of which dictatorships are made.

Not advocating for killing trans people is apparently "identity politics"

[–] rigatti@lemmy.world 12 points 1 month ago (1 children)

But they weren't even really defending trans people in the last campaign. I don't know what OP is talking about.

why do you think they nominated Harris? because of her experience? because of her broad support? her charisma?
why all the “i’m with her” stuff?

[–] rigatti@lemmy.world 0 points 1 day ago (1 children)

They nominated her because of her experience and name recognition as vice president.

Attorney general of CA, senator of CA, vice president of the US. Certainly no experience at all.

one term as senator is not experience, being the attorney general is negative experience.
being VP is not experience.

Who would you have preferred on experience alone?

Look, I love Bernie, but he wouldn't have done much to counter the "too old" argument.

vs Trump? I don’t think that would be the issue.

I don't think he even considers it anymore, at least that's the vibe I have been noticing and this interview sealed it, he'd probably rather support another progressive with similar views to step in to run for President and support them, he's not worried to have more power like most politicians, he seems a lot more down to earth and focused on the issues at hand, last chance was probably 2015

The question is which of the few progressive politicians will step in, I'd like it to be AOC but I doubt it will happen

at this point, no he’s probably not… but the DNC fucked him out of the presidential nomination twice… first time, we got trump vs hillary clinton, second time we got Biden.
A lot of Trump supporters would’ve preferred Sanders…
the last election the DNC just skipped the nomination process and gave it to Harris… Sanders would’ve won. Harris won the last election but it was hacked.
AOC / Buttigieg might win the next election, but we won’t be having elections anymore.

Probably not with this Supreme Court giving Trump a pass to do many things he shouldn't have power to, even if there was really an election held this time around if Trump rejected the results would the Supreme Court side with him? The point it's not granted to be a no answer says a lot
