My first thought when seeing the garden hose design was that it’s well designed because you can cut the hose and attach connectors without special tools. And the connectors attach quickly without screwing. But now that I’ve used this system, I have to say it’s dysfunctional. These plastic connectors cannot withstand normal domestic water pressure. The pressure builds until one of the ends just blasts off, sprays and floods.

There are 2 points of failure. Sometimes the connector ejects from the nipple, and sometimes the hose slips off the connector.
