I'm incredibly biased in saying this, but:

I'm pretty sure the barbarism won't be coming from the Marxist side of society

"Socialism or barbarism" is a phrase used by Marxists. Marxists do not want barbarism, but see that the unsustainability of Capitalism makes either outcome inevitable. Communism absolutely isn't inevitable, but it is the only real alternative in the far future over barbarism as Capitalism dies.
