Honestly this is something I liked in Outer Worlds. Parvati's romance quest has you play the wing man, and it was much more entertaining than how it is usually done in RPGs (inc. other obsidian titles).
I usually don't do romance quests because they're very cheesy most of the time, but in parvati's case it was a bit charming instead due to the different approach.
saints row 4 did it well too
I also prefer the wingman/giving advice to another character on their romance style.
