There are tasteful ways to include fan service and the execution is what matters

Show is meant to be smutty ? It's about quality

Show not meant to be smutty ? this better be relevant to the plot in some way

If it's relevant to the plot, or a feature of the genre, is that even fan service? I thought fan service, by definition, was extraneous sexuality.
