My technical, nit-picky editor mind says to lose the contraction in the first panel to help stress the pronoun hasn’t switched subjects.

I have pages of posts in my history, all regarding pronouns.

Me- "I wasn't referring to you, the subject was ___________ and the pronoun always refers to the subject!"

Them- "But you said "you" so that means me!"

Me- YOURE NOT THE SUBJECT

There's a thing called impersonal 2nd person or something. I also use it a lot and some people get confused.

I find putting (general) in front of you stops all that. It’s annoying because people should exercise a bit of critical thinking instead of going ‘this comment is about me personally?’ but that’s a lot to expect right now.
