Welcome to c/news! Please read the Hexbear Code of Conduct and remember... we're all comrades here.
Rules:
-- PLEASE KEEP POST TITLES INFORMATIVE --
-- Overly editorialized titles, particularly if they link to opinion pieces, may get your post removed. --
-- All posts must include a link to their source. Screenshots are fine IF you include the link in the post body. --
-- If you are citing a twitter post as news please include not just the twitter.com in your links but also nitter.net (or another Nitter instance). There is also a Firefox extension that can redirect Twitter links to a Nitter instance: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/libredirect/ or archive them as you would any other reactionary source using e.g. https://archive.today/ . Twitter screenshots still need to be sourced or they will be removed --
-- Mass tagging comm moderators across multiple posts like a broken markov chain bot will result in a comm ban--
-- Repeated consecutive posting of reactionary sources, fake news, misleading / outdated news, false alarms over ghoul deaths, and/or shitposts will result in a comm ban.--
-- Neglecting to use content warnings or NSFW when dealing with disturbing content will be removed until in compliance. Users who are consecutively reported due to failing to use content warnings or NSFW tags when commenting on or posting disturbing content will result in the user being banned. --
-- Using April 1st as an excuse to post fake headlines, like the resurrection of Kissinger while he is still fortunately dead, will result in the poster being thrown in the gamer gulag and be sentenced to play and beat trashy mobile games like 'Raid: Shadow Legends' in order to be rehabilitated back into general society. --

Did the fucking jury not see the body cam footage of the guy screaming out for his mom with his hands restrained while officers beat him and shout "Stop resisting!" when it's obvious he's physically unable to resist? They were clearly beating him just because they could and were deliberately obfuscating the situation so they could get away with it.
I suspect, though, this only went to court because the officers were black and it was at the height of BLM protests. White pigs throw them under the bus to make it look like they're doing something while reinforcing racism within their own ranks. Thought for sure they'd be found guilty because it was borderline premeditated with how they tried to make it sound like Nichols was assaulting officers.
ACAB.
Obviously the jury didn't care much.
These jurors should get the Tyre Nichols treatment.
Nope! Because Biden successfully drew everyone's attention to a bunch of weather balloons like 24 hours after it was released to the public.
But in a court of law the body cam footage should still be shown, it not being seen in the news isn’t the same thing as it not being shown in court
Of course. I just can't resist an opportunity to point out how blatant that false flag was.
That's the beauty of the courts: prosecutors get to screen out any potential jurors who have such inconvenient attributes as "a functioning brain" or "basic human empathy" or "have read the news in the past year," so all the people who are left over are a cross between the focus groups that Hollywood blockbusters target and the literal personifications of the NPC meme who will unironically nod their heads along when a judge tells them that the testimony of a police officer is sacrosanct and must be trusted as 100% literal truth even when anyone with two braincells to rub together could point out the massive conflict of interest.
The kind of shit they show you when you get selected for jury duty makes copaganda TV look positively tame.
The police are afforded a privileged place in our society; they can do no wrong
