The gendered bullshit goes both ways. For example: men’s clothing is way more expensive than women’s for some reason.
I think it's because adding the pockets costs extra.
Seriously though, men's clothing is typically a lot more durable.
Sewing is one of my wife's hobbies, so I know it can't cost that much. Maybe they know we only buy shit that lasts because we hate shopping.
I‘m not sure about that:
TIL that the payment system knows your sex. If you don't want to buy the "pink tax", then stop buying the pink shit. It's not that hard. "ugh, men pay less" - then buy whatever men are buying. You're simply willing to pay more for a product catered to your gender. Then stop doing that.
Capitalists hate this one fix! 😜
There are some areas where this is possible. Razors for example: In my experience woman’s razors are absolutely shitty and more expensive then men’s razors.
But concerning other areas: There might be a chance, that a significant number of woman doesn’t want to smell like „Old Spice“ or „Irish Moss“ and most men’s clothing does not match with most women’s body’s. Also I think you underestimate how it could completely wreck a kids social life, if wears the „wrong“ clothing or plays with the „wrong“ toys.
