From a class collaborationist, conservative perspective of course.
I read it for catechism, and while it's very much a piece of catholic doctrine from the 1800s, it has in it a lot of the seeds of the more socially involved movements within the church.
If I read the correct document earlier, Rerum Novarum had an extremely reactionary take on class struggle and essentially worshipped private property.
That's fairly accurate, yes. Now read up on Domingo Gutierrez to see the antithesis.
He was anti-communist "both sides" though.
