I don’t get the grace your giving a person who voted explicitly to harm migrants, the lgbt community, homeless people, marginalized people, leftists, lawyers, judges and anyone who isn’t white.

I think you're both right, but from a practical perspective it does little good to berate these people after they show remorse.
