As far as your gameboy analogy goes, handheld devices definitly didn't go away. It wasn't a fad, and it's still here... compare the game boy to your fucking phone and realize what a dipshit you still are
The Virtual Boy was a failed expansion of The Game Boy, as far as my analogies go I’d say I got it straight on. What we have had and used to its usable capacity for years is LLMs, what we are doing with them currently is The Virtual Boy point for point. My claim stands.
I was referring to compute capability, not format, your comprehension is garbage, probably from cognitive decline due to overuse of “AI” tools, which is yet another standout issue for your Virtual Boy.
Also, if your issue with my argument relies on critiques of my analogy usage as opposed to the actual issues I’m addressing then you’re failing. You did not address anything other than my usage of the words “Virtual Boy” and “Game Boy” and that LLMs have areas of functional applied usage, but ignored the caveat that how it’s being used and pushed now is a detrimental path for technological progress as a whole, akin to putting ionizing radioactive materials into wrist watches. Do you have anything is response to the actual issues with the technology, or just my choice in what I compared things to?
I just showed you that it's popularity is increasing. It's now in 88% of businesses. It's not the Virtual Boy, that was a product that was never popular, not even for a brief amount of time.

My original argument was that you could hate AI all you wanted but it wasn't going to go away. That people will continue to use it in the distant future and that 20 years from now we'll look back on people who thought it was a stupid fad and laugh. Just like how we laugh at old newspaper clippings of people saying the internet is a fad... that's how we'll view people who think AI is a fad
You were very unhappy about that. I couldn't be more wrong. I was so stupid for saying that you accused me of being paid to say it. You accused me of sucking my bosses dick and even went so far as to say that I'm so fucking stupid for saying that, I don't even work in software.
And not just you, I literally got banned from that sub for being an AI shill for saying that. When I explained that we use AI Agents to document our meetingss, manage our pipelines, and do baseline reviews for Pull Requests, I was told straight up that "AI can't do any of that"
Now suddenly you want to back-peddle all that homophobic bullshit about me sucking my bosses dick and act like, actually, you do know that LLMs have use and that you've known the whole time they're super useful and have been for years. Which is a big step back from your original claims that AI was, "entirely pointless" because it, "doesn't do anything new" and only for "idiots"

AI is what we call LLMs, don't be willfully ignorant, you know that. When people say they are going to "Goggle it" that doesn't mean that they have to use Google. Some people refer to all soda drinks as "Coke". Saying "AI" instead of "LLM" is fine. LLMs are a subset of AI anyway. But more importantly, semantics don't matter, you're just desperately trying to distract from the fact that you said it was a useless tool that doesn't do anything new and is only for idiots
