[2015] Brexit? Never gonna happen No way people would vote for that it would be so silly

[2020] A second Trump presidency? What are you smoking, there's no way US citizens would want this guy back after what he did

[2025] Actual fascism, in my country? Mate what are you talking about, our people would never let it happen, at the very least they would not vote for it

German here. You will not guess which one the strongest party is, not (yet) in parliaments but in surveys. Small hint: it's politically similar to one that used to be the only party less than 100 years ago.

History never repeats itself...but it often rhymes.

Rip. Same over here with our strongest polling party 😩

I feel like once an event is terrible enough, it should buy you at least 100 years before people let it happen again.

I don't follow the surveys too tight but at some point the AfD topped the CxU I think

Italian here, we have an actual fascist party in charge 😔

[–] vonxylofon@lemmy.world 0 points 2 months ago (1 children)

How's that compared to Cheetolini?

She's playing quite normal for a fascist, but mostly because of the EU and its boundaries (thx to god).

She's of course pro Trump and because of that we are left alone in the corner from the other big nations in Europe.

She flirted a lot with Musk, but when it was time to sign for Starlink (for the Army!!!), the deal went down (thx to god once again).

There is a 10-25% level of these types of people throughout the world, the political system, culture and social conditions just make them more or less obvious/organized.

I lived in Luton for a bit for a UK job, let me tell ya, I got to see the best and brightest of your country I think. Brexit was a surprise for me like it was for most, but only half of a surprise after what I'd seen ten years before in big Lute.

Although I was told I don't know what the real british experience is until I've seen the Bude tunnel in person. This place changes people, so I've been told. Can't wait to visit it one day and get my spiritual awakening.

Psssshhhhhh!!! removed please! We eat tidepods, and then get into heated arguements over who can and can't use certain bathrooms based on their genitals that we can't see.

Yes that is part of what we do. We also hate on foreigners for “taking all the jobs” when in reality they are taking the jobs we won’t do. This is just an excuse used by lazy brits who don’t want to pay their way and sit around claiming benefits and having loads of kids. Ironically claiming some of the money those “job stealing foreigners” are making for their own families. We also form hate groups to drive these people out of the country as “they are making Britain a horrible place to live”. We aren’t the gentle passive country we all tell people we are and we are in no way better or smarter then countries such as America as we always tend to follow whatever they do. Britain is also full of nazis. Wake up.
