National Defence Minister David McGuinty has also argued that Palantir Canada — a branch of the American billionaire-founded artificial intelligence company working with Israel — is a Canadian company.

Eighty-two per cent said Canada should “defend itself without relying too heavily on other countries,” the poll found. U.S. companies, including those operating subsidiaries in Canada, were the least favoured.

Just like with the majority foreign-owned fossil fuel industry in Alberta, 'our' Government will give money to foreign/US corporations and sell it to us (with no questions asked by mainstream media) as 'sovereignty'. Obviously anyone who thinks the CPC offers something better for working Canadians is delusional

Pratt & Whitney is genuinely and substantially Canadian in every way except ultimate ownership. PW does its own research, development, marketing, and manufacturing of its engines. They aren’t taking American designs and building them on Canadian soil, own owns its own product lines outright.

The PT6 turboprop is a workhorse engine and wholly Canadian. The Longueuil facility employs 4500 workers, it’s deeply woven into Quebec’s history. They recently invested $275 million into facility and have long supported Canadian aviation.

It’s shocking how many of the leftists that hate fake news and sensationalism are falling for it readily when they want their own narrative to be true. This is not news, it’s not a grift, it’s not a lie, it’s not a conspiracy. It is fake news and bullshit to push an Anti-Canadian agenda.

I posit that the definitive test is to ask the question 'If a foreign entity could order the closure of the plant, is it Canadian owned and controlled?'

And if this is accepted as a test, then the question becomes 'Could a foreign entity order the closure of P&W?'

To answer your question they can’t really do that. Certain industries are deemed important to national interest. Google MDA and their purchase by Maxar and what ensued. MDA is still a Canadian company today.

It's fair to outline legitimately Canadian aspects of P&W. It's not fair to label those concerned about its American ownership as being Anti-Canadian or fake news

This article is an opinion piece posing as legitimate news. The criticism is short sighted and problematic. The article serves no purpose beyond pushing a false narrative. Its 100% Anti-Canadian to do the minimum research to blast PW when they have been a Canadian and Québécois institution for the last century.
