I wonder if it's more like VR.

People don't like losing control over their technology in reality.

People want to retain control over their technology, like it's a tool.

Virtual reality removes awareness and agency in the real world.

Same as agents do.

What does this have to do with VR? VR doesn't remove anything, it's just a fancy monitor.
