Automated License Plate Readers (ALPRs) are AI-powered cameras that capture and analyze images of all passing vehicles, storing details like your car’s location, date, and time. They also capture your car’s make, model, color, and identifying features such as dents, roof racks, and bumper stickers, often turning these into searchable data points. These cameras collect data on millions of vehicles—regardless of whether the driver is suspected of a crime. While these systems can be useful for tracking stolen cars or wanted individuals, they are mostly used to track the movements of innocent people.

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – Bernalillo County Sheriff’s deputies took a man into custody Wednesday after he showed up outside their headquarters with multiple Flock cameras in the back of his pickup truck.

Authorities arrested Jevon Martinez for damaging Flock cameras in Rio Rancho in May. Then, Wednesday, he posted video on social media appearing to show him driving around Albuquerque and taking down automated license plate readers once again.

In those videos, he comments that since the Bernalillo County Sheriff’s Office ended its contract with Flock last month, those cameras should no longer be out on the streets.

"Just for the record, I am not stealing these. I am not destroying them. I am simply returning them to the Bernalillo County Sheriff’s Department,” he said in one video.

Voting for Trump doesn't make a person a bad person

No it just means they were already a bad person. Or stupid. Really really stupid. Almost as stupid as Trump.

To think that way of your fellow countrymen, it's very damaging for your society. It is fuel for the social division you have all been played into.

[–] artyom@piefed.social 7 points 1 day ago (2 children)

The damage to society is caused by the bad people who voted for the unconscionable moron.

Do you think the current situation is what they wanted? If they are bad people, they would be very happy with the outcome of their actions right now. Public opinion and general attitude strongly disagrees with that idea and therefore your opinion. However, it does fit well into the divisive tribalism sewn into your society's culture in the past 8 years.

I highly doubt your opinion will budge. So, 'very well done' to your shepherds. You're playing your part as planned. The person identical to you but splintered and steered into the other pen, doing their part just the same.

A society should show more concern for those that align with division than those that try to cause it. It means the wolves have found an exploitable 'in'. It means you're already diseased with the idea but only an ad populum fallacy can get through, weirdly.

I agree with you about division but the answer to this question is yes. Unfortunately there is a not insignificant number of Americans who would be completely happy with the current situation if it was only affecting the “others” they were told it would.

It’s important to understand there is a difference between those people who are upset because of what’s happening, full stop, and those people who are upset because it’s happening to them.

yup, many are accelerationists' promoting a new civil war. and the rest are simply racist fucks who thought trump would be racist, but not drive the bus off the cliff.

fuck both of those crowds.

Yep. I think the point is, all hands should be shaking and starting action, not pointing fingers. The time for that is long gone and it's something the wolves are really depending on people to keep doing. It's a passive, non-threatening, waste of energy. It just It's divide and conquer 101.

Those participating in it are fuel to their own fire. They are not helping themselves or their fellow Americans in anyway. Accountability can come later if it really is needed, but there's bigger problems than a random Joe Smith that "voted for this" and socially ridiculing them is the perfect shot in one's own foot. Gotta be really gullable to fall for that.

Never will I ever shake hands with people who think it's okay to let pregnant women die, shove "others" into concentration camps, weaponize the government against dissidents and political opponents in bad faith, and rig elections, or be complicit in the rigging of elections, among other issues. Sorry not sorry.

Many of them very much are. In many ways it may not be but in some of the most important ones, it absolutely is. You can see this when all of Trump's endorsed candidates in the recent primaries won.

Public opinion and general attitude strongly disagrees with that idea and therefore your opinion.

In general? Sure, somewhat. Amongst his voters? Nah.

Counter: The USA has a two party system.

I will elaborate if you want, but otherwise, no notes.

Most of them are just ignorant and poorly educated and they got duped. That doesn't make them irredeemably evil, they can learn to be better when approached the right way. They live in the most heavily propagandized nation to ever exist. Their reality is distorted and that distortion is reinforced every minute of every day by mainstream media corporations.

Trump is a different kind of stupid and he's surrounded and being used by people smarter than him with agendas that are worse than "make Trump look good" (which is Donnie's primary goal as he nears his end).
