As the U.S.-Israeli war on Iran stretches into its second week, President Donald Trump has been floating the idea that he wants to declare Mission Accomplished. “We will. We’ve already won in many ways, but we haven’t won enough,” Trump declared on Monday afternoon in a speech before Republican lawmakers in Florida.

Iran, however, has shown no sign of ceasing its attacks. The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps is steadily launching missiles at cities across Israel and continues to strike U.S. military assets and outposts in the Persian Gulf. “The Armed Forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran are capable of continuing at least a six-month intense war at the current pace of operations,” IRGC spokesperson Ali Mohammad Naini said Sunday in video remarks broadcast on state media. “Iran will determine when the war ends.”

The Burger Reich finally picked on an opponent that can punch back.

He wants to move on to Cuba. I’d say he’s bored of Iran.

I'm not sure he's developed object permanence. He may have forgotten a ran exists because he saw Cuba instead

The more Trump is compared to a toddler, the more sense it all makes.

  • shits his diapers
  • lack of object permanence
  • influenced by the last person he talks to
  • very low reading level; uneducated
  • throws tantrums

He will just declare victory at some point

[–] theneverfox@pawb.social 14 points 1 week ago (1 children)

He literally already did. Multiple times

What's better than winning once? Winning multiple times

I'm thinking that the rhetoric on this is just a scam they're running on the stock market like they did with the tariffs. Every other day they say some new shit and the market reacts and the pedos make bank

I hope the Iranians make Trump give them all ESPN as part of the ceasefire agreement.

Iran could end the war independently with US than with Israel. US/Trump's ego needs denuclearization and opening of Straits.

Iran needs no more embargoes. There is a price that they can sell enriched uranium to US. Guarantees against no more future attacks can come with reperations/reconstruction cash as goodwill, to later be swapped with US investment. Let congress vote on affirming into law no more attack on Iran without 60% majority. Even if US lies about future intentions for peace, Iran missile production will outpace the US's, and cash (even as prepayment for future investment) goes a long way to ensuring another future defeat with forfeiting of US interests/ownership in Iran.

For the Israel front, the US/GCC/NATO could push back on some of those terms to pressure Israel to stop. Board of Peace chair given to Iran. world embargo on Israel, arrest/IDF fragging of Netanyahu, 1990s track for 2 state or greater multicultural constitutional Palestine solution. Israeli enthusiasm for genocide is conditional on the illusion of protection from all inconvenience from blowback of the unchosen.

[–] faintwhenfree@lemmus.org 11 points 1 week ago (1 children)

And how would the said guarantee be enforced?

[–] humanspiral@lemmy.ca -2 points 1 week ago

Instead of relying on trust of the US, cash restitution/reconstruction and investment means losing those investments if US betrays their guarantees/promises. It is also obviously a signal that any declaration of US victory is whitewashing of defeat, and enough people in US will politicize as defeat, to bring it up again, if a zionazi puppet in future starts calling it a good idea to attack Iran.

I don't think Iran is going to agree to end this without getting nukes eventually now. This war has shown the entire world that the path to peace is having nukes.

[–] humanspiral@lemmy.ca -4 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Iran has proven deterence capability without it. Iran needs US permission to trade more than nukes for great prosperity that can keep its deterence power. Nuclear pursuit was always stupidity with no economic value, but can turn into value by high profit sales of enriched uranium. It's important to give the US a victory narrative in getting them/Trump to accept defeat.

[–] HobbitFoot@thelemmy.club 1 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Given that Iran is getting bombed but no nuclear power is kind of shows the value of nuclear deterrence.

[–] humanspiral@lemmy.ca 1 points 1 week ago

I get the point. They should have nuclear umbrella help to end the war earlier and easier, but even without it, mistake of attacking them is unlikely to be repeated.
