After I use it each time??

6+ months π«
I usually clean it once I can no longer ignore the pink scum and black mold growing in it π
β¦β¦ yup - came here to say βwhen I notice the black stuffβ.
I appreciate your honesty, and I'm not far behind. I'll scratch off build up sometimes and easily go months. Washing it is probably a similar frequency to getting my haircut.
Wash them???
Mold and bacteria can grow in it within a day or two, even if it's not visible. I hand wash mine once every week or two. I also sanitize it regularly by pouring boiling water in the tumbler (it's metal) when I make tea, then leaving the hot water in for about 10 minutes.
that's probably bad, huh?
What if I'm very regularly using it for tea?
I don't deep clean mine unless its needed
I usually just rinse it out and call it a day.
Typically I rinse it out daily and bout 1/week actually scrub it with soap or put it in the dishwasher
I wash the parts my mouth touches pretty regularly. The other bits, especially if the donβt get backwash? Maybe a few times a year the whole thing goes in the dishwasher. Disassembly and careful hand washing? Bitch, youβre a water bottle. You donβt get that!
Asking because the tumbler I use has a lot of little parts, so I easily go weeks between washing. I'm hoping someone more knowledgeable than me shares a good reason why I shouldn't do that, because I feel a bit self conscious about it, but not enough to frequently wash.
Itβs fine until itβs not, but you can do a lot to combat growth by rinsing it with vinegar and boiling water, then letting it fully dry before using it again once or twice a week
About 16 years and counting
I only get dishwasher safe coffee tumblers and I wash them daily. I have enough respiratory goo without adding mold to the mix.
Honestly I think its been years. There's some hard water on the lid, but no traces of mold or anything like that. It also tastes and smells normal to me.Β
If weβre talking for water drinking only? Rinse out each day. Wash every other day. If I put coffee in, full wash each day.
I use a metal thermos and I go 1 week then I soak with cafiza and boiling water for a few minutes
Every couple of days I will squirt some dish soap in there with water and give it a thorough shake. Every week or so I actually disassemble it for a proper clean.
Not too long. Like once a week or every other week. What happens is I forget and leave water in it, and then Iβll wash it.
I can go a few months. I drink one big one a day and leave the cap off overnight until I refill it in the morning. Leaving the cap off really helps keep the mold away
everyday.
After using it.
Drink
Rinse
Dry
Repeat
Prolly once a week.
1 day, because I try to run the dishwasher every day anyway.
Once a month. The tap water quality in Austria is excellent. I have a SIGG aluminium thermo bottle. Normally I leave it overnight with one Kukident tablet and some citric acid powder inside. Next day its ready for the whole month.
I clean mine whenever I start to see a visible crust/film form around the spout I drink from. It's just for water, so that's pretty much the only part that gets nasty.
I wash it whenever it's in my hand and I'm near a sink, so at least once a day when it's in active use.
The real question is how often do I dty it?
