I'm a sucker for a good example of the Droste effect!

Thanks for sharing the link. Ain't nobody gonna know what that is without it and we like to learn.

That's not true! I came here hoping to post basically the exact same comment! Sadly I'm far too late.

I wanna believe

That's so sick, I'd always waste time trying to look at the "end" of the loop when I found packaging that did this as a kid

It's a pirated version of Photoshop, too, since the Adobe subscription is as much as a mortgage now.

[–] damnthefilibuster@lemmy.world 13 points 2 weeks ago

I was gonna say… OP much better rich to afford Photoshop!

It's $20USD/month which actually is kinda reasonable when you consider the perpetual licenses used to go for $600+ and for those who needed it professionally they were likely to upgrade with new releases.

And lets not pretend the casuals didn't also pirate back then.

the distinctive head shape of the ~~crying troll face~~ forever alone meme is the kind of detail that turns good art into great art

And I spent way more time than I'm willing to admit looking at rage comics back in the day. I feel old :(

(you're welcome)

[–] zerobot@lemmy.wtf 8 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

My aunt and uncle have a giant house on a huge piece of property. My mom reminded me the other day, they built that house when they were 36. Blew my mind.

[–] axexrx@lemmy.world 5 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

My parents bought a house for 75k in 1985. My nan put down 35k, and they lived in the MIL suite of the house for the summers for 3 years, and rented the main house for 5k a season, and my dad paid the last 25k out of his salary.

That house is worth 3.5 million now. Cheapest property ive seen go to market in my town was 950k and that was a literal 2 room beach shack with the only shower being outdoors.

This is some high quality stuff.

[–] krashmo@lemmy.world 5 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

Could be worse. At least you've got a computer and some sort of building to put it in.

[–] Cethin@lemmy.zip 4 points 2 weeks ago

Looks to me more like they just put their computer in The Void. Rent there is surprisingly affordable.

[–] aggelalex@lemmy.world 5 points 2 weeks ago

Yoooo can we turn this meme into an MC Escher logarithmically rotated image?

[–] Variden3301@lemmy.world 5 points 2 weeks ago

Yay a recursive meme

[–] Agent641@lemmy.world 3 points 2 weeks ago

Proud owner of a pirated copy of Photoshop

Fuck that, I have a Mac, I would never use Windows!

[–] dream_weasel@sh.itjust.works 1 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

Don't worry, the picture seems to be Linux. Far superior to mac.

[–] homes@piefed.world 0 points 2 weeks ago

if it can't run a current version of photoshop, then it's useless to me
