Looking good big-cool

I don't really know exactly what I want to play; probably elementalist ignite with the newly buffed Divine Ire or shield crush.

I avoid DoT builds because of DoT damage is capped at 30 mil dps. This league looks like it will be bossing oriented, with the addition of new bosses, the atlas thread system which compounds maps modifiers in the chain, and the mercenary dueling system.

Conner (OneManaLeft) has been predicting for months that this league would buff self-cast spell builds and it seems that he was proven to be correct in the patch notes. There's huge buffs to arcane surge and cast speed. I'll probably look into doing something with energy blade + spellblade + self cast.

In phrecia, I had a 5 mirror build (manaforged arrows whisperer) with over a billion dps. In settlers, I had a 10 mirror build (zenith juggernaut, I'm not sure what the dps was but it could do all map mods on t17 without any problems.

I'm really enticed by energy blade + self cast because you can swap in any spell you want. Also the buffs to cast speed will greatly improve transfigured frostblink (frostblink of wintry blast). Trans frostblink basically feels like you have Enigma is Diablo 2.

League start ignite builds aren't getting anywhere near DoT cap anyway, I'm looking at about 2 million DPS even on week 2 gear for me. I just want to try ignite because I haven't played it ever in more than 10 years of playing this game.

Energy blade is extremely flexible, and always has more and more you can put into it.

I really miss my old Brace_Belden. CoC cyclone arc. Dude had like 13k ES with EB up, about 50 million dps on a completely smooth setup with 0 delay on the damage. Conner's builds definitely outclass it by a factor of 40x but I absolutely hate playing anything that requires setup to deliver damage (I mean, zenith jugg was probably smooth enough except for only dealing damage 1/3 of the time). The way that this character would literally destroy wave 30 Kosis before it even had a chance to finish its spawn animation was glorious.
