Reddit is selling their user database?

Who are the interested buyers? I'll mail a sample directly posthaste.

Credit to the top comment on the article:

I've heard of enshittification but this is ridiculous

I guess it doesn't surprise me that we're now seeing AI dataset trainers as a market for harvested user data. Using reddit as a direct marketplace just out in the open is new to me, but makes sense given the kinds of other stuff people sell on there.

That poop.ai domain is looking pretty solid right now! If this isnt a load of crap, they should have $70k in the tank to dump on this shit. They better watch their rear or their competitor will get the drop on them and they'll be number two.

I mean, this is why you read the terms and conditions.

If the app was completely free, I feel that personal data tradeoff is likely worth it for a lot of these users. Especially if properly anonymized.

Terms and conditions are completely meaningless.

They can amend the T&C at any time and there's usually nothing you can do about it. Once they have your data, it's just a matter of time before everyone else has the same data.

Literally the only way to prevent your data from getting out is to keep it off any computer you don't 100% manage.

That includes credit cards, banking, jobs, etc.
