Can't drink the stuff since they changed the recipe to evade the sugar tax in the UK. Still can't believe they messed with it. Worst thing to happen to Scotland since Thatcher 🀣

I tried Irn Bru for the first time a month or two ago, and it is great. I'll randomly just get a craving for it now, and unfortunately I don't have access to it without overpaying for it on the internet

If there's a Latino market near you, try Peruvian Inka Kola. Tastes the same to me.

Inca Cola for life! I was stunned when it tasted the same when I visited scotland and tried Irn Bru lol

[–] prole@lemmy.blahaj.zone 2 points 3 days ago

I've heard of it but have never seen it anywhere. I will keep an eye out

Irn Bru is fantastic. Gather it at all costs.

Fun fact: it outsold Coca Cola for a few years in its native Scotland. Unfortunately changes to the sugar tax in the UK, and the changes both companies made to their products as a result, mean that Coke does now outsell it.

Should you like or not have access to Irn Bru, try Big Red. Similar (not same) tastes. Both good.

Deranged amazon order

We had to sign for a DVD once. It was a foreign documentary about a car rebuild. But as it did not have any local age rating, it is automatically considered 18+.

Is that an inside out urn or something?

[–] sundray@lemmus.org 2 points 4 days ago

I think it's a secret ingredient like chemical-X or something.

I once had to show my ID when I was buying non alcoholic beer. Even the cashier was surprised and quietly complaines to herself: "Even [brand] now requires an ID..." But it didn't happen ever again even in the same store, so it was likely a system error.

Not even slightly.

It has citric acid in it and it's orange πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ

[–] T00l_shed@lemmy.world 3 points 4 days ago

I've never picked up a citrus flavour, but it is certainly orange lol

[–] nexguy@lemmy.world 3 points 4 days ago

You can't just deliver acid to someone's door without id.

[–] Lemmyoutofhere@lemmy.ca 1 points 4 days ago

So, it’s just sour.

[–] davidagain@lemmy.world 4 points 4 days ago

Made in Scotland from girders.

...and enough additives to trigger your adhd symptoms even if you don't have any. But no worse than any "energy" drink, I'd guess.

It's a Scottish Aperol spritz.
