Welcome to the discussion of US Politics!

Rules:

  1. Post only links to articles, Title must fairly describe link contents. If your title differs from the site’s, it should only be to add context or be more descriptive. Do not post entire articles in the body or in the comments.

Links must be to the original source, not an aggregator like Google Amp, MSN, or Yahoo.

Example:

  1. Articles must be relevant to politics. Links must be to quality and original content. Articles should be worth reading. Clickbait, stub articles, and rehosted or stolen content are not allowed. Check your source for Reliability and Bias here.
  2. Be civil, No violations of TOS. It’s OK to say the subject of an article is behaving like a (pejorative, pejorative). It’s NOT OK to say another USER is (pejorative). Strong language is fine, just not directed at other members. Engage in good-faith and with respect! This includes accusing another user of being a bot or paid actor. Trolling is uncivil and is grounds for removal and/or a community ban.
  3. No memes, trolling, or low-effort comments. Reposts, misinformation, off-topic, trolling, or offensive. Similarly, if you see posts along these lines, do not engage. Report them, block them, and live a happier life than they do. We see too many slapfights that boil down to "Mom! He's bugging me!" and "I'm not touching you!" Going forward, slapfights will result in removed comments and temp bans to cool off.
  4. Vote based on comment quality, not agreement. This community aims to foster discussion; please reward people for putting effort into articulating their viewpoint, even if you disagree with it.
  5. No hate speech, slurs, celebrating death, advocating violence, or abusive language. This will result in a ban. Usernames containing racist, or inappropriate slurs will be banned without warning

We ask that the users report any comment or post that violate the rules, to use critical thinking when reading, posting or commenting. Users that post off-topic spam, advocate violence, have multiple comments or posts removed, weaponize reports or violate the code of conduct will be banned.

All posts and comments will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. This means that some content that violates the rules may be allowed, while other content that does not violate the rules may be removed. The moderators retain the right to remove any content and ban users.

That's all the rules!

Drain the damp to fill it with sewage.

The corruption extends to birthday parties. The Trumps are seriously garbage people.

[–] ryokimball@infosec.pub 38 points 3 weeks ago

Certainly wanting to buy in

Gee, I wonder why he's asking? /s

These guys are corrupt to the core, and too arrogant to bother hiding it.

[–] lando55@lemmy.zip 7 points 3 weeks ago

"Tell me which fights those are so that I may shed light on this corruption and scold the cretins responsible!"

[–] bedifferent@mastodon.social 2 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)

@teyrnon @ZeroCool I disagree they're too "arrogant to bother hiding it".

Why bother hiding a thing (except rape and murder and lying about it). They're getting away with it.

[–] teyrnon@sh.itjust.works 2 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)

That is my point, they don't think (correctly as of yet,) that anyone would dare stop them, or could stop them, so they are openly corrupt. Open to those of us in reality. Their followers and the assorted sheep might not realize it, because they are led astray by people manipulating them.

@teyrnon It is insane and shows how stupid we can be and are. Neighbors are trying to sell their house to move to a good school district. What they don't know is it'll be propaganda and lies. It'll happen slowly but they have no clue or care.

About 6 years ago, I asked Ruth Ben-Ghiat if we could move (in this country). She said we can move anywhere we want. What I realized later was yeah, we can move anywhere we want because no place here will be safe.

Cheating is their competitive advantage. They cheat at everything. It's been Trump's Bread & Butter for his entire life, and now he's passed it on to the next generation. Some bloodlines need to end.

They cheat AT VERYTHING, but not the 2024 election. That was "Fair & Square," according to the DNC. The only election that Trump absolutely had to win to avoid a life sentence in prison, but that was the first time he decided to play it "Fair & Square."

Look up the Election Truth Alliance. They have a ton of lawsuits slowly and quietly working their way through the courts to declare 2016, 2020, and 2024 all rigged for the GOP. They have the data to back it up, unlike the GOP lawsuits. All three elections show a clear "Russian Tail."

Did not know about them, will do my research.

Edit: Awesome lead, thanks!

It's just another 'business opportunity'

[–] Formfiller@lemmy.world 9 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)

White trash family and white trash president

[–] CharlesDarwin@lemmy.world 8 points 3 weeks ago

They made the White House into a White Trash House.

I don’t watch this stuff. I watched WWF (now WWE) when I was a kid. Is it fake like WWF? Or is it actually real? Do people bet on this?

[–] BruisedMoose@piefed.social 7 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)

Polymarket exists. People bet on everything these days.

[–] Quokka@quokk.au 6 points 3 weeks ago

Polycule > Polymarket

[–] someguy3@lemmy.world 5 points 3 weeks ago* (last edited 3 weeks ago)

UFC is real. People bet on everything these days. Literally every weird thing that could be imagined, it's online on polymarket.

[–] teyrnon@sh.itjust.works 3 points 3 weeks ago

Are you kidding? Of course they bet on this in particular but all fights now (and everything else,) it's not illegal bookies anymore because the supreme court struck down the ban on sports betting years back, and it's expanded to everything.

It's weird though, as the US, under Biden, shut down predictit, a non profit university project to better preditct events with betting on outcomes, and then gave the ok to for profit companies. Not really weird so much as corrupt.

[–] ryper@lemmy.ca -1 points 3 weeks ago* (last edited 3 weeks ago)

I think UFC was real at one point, but it's been owned by the same parent company as WWE for a few years now, so they might be more similar these days.

"Yeah, why?"
