Enough Musk Spam

376 users here now

For those that have had enough of the Elon Musk worship online.

No flaming, baiting, etc. This community is intended for those opposed to the influx of Elon Musk-related advertising online. Coming here to defend Musk or his companies will not get you banned, but it likely will result in downvotes. Please use the reporting feature if you see a rule violation.

Opinions from all sides of the political spectrum are welcome here. However, we kindly ask that off-topic political discussion be kept to a minimum, so as to focus on the goal of this sub. This community is minimally moderated, so discussion and the power of upvotes/downvotes are allowed, provided lemmy.world rules are not broken.

Post links to instances of obvious Elon Musk fanboy brigading in default subreddits, lemmy/kbin communities/instances, astroturfing from Tesla/SpaceX/etc., or any articles critical of Musk, his ideas, unrealistic promises and timelines, or the working conditions at his companies.

Tesla-specific discussion can be posted here as well as our sister community /c/RealTesla.

Financial obesity is an existential threat to any society that tolerates it, and needs to cease being celebrated, rewarded, and positioned as an aspirational goal.

Corporations are the only ‘persons’ which should be subjected to capital punishment, but trillionaires should be forced to transition into billionaires, and billionaires should be euthanised through taxation.

They set up a loyalty program like you would have for any grocery store, which helps with inventory control, and these people think it's an ID verification system.

[–] driving_crooner@lemmy.eco.br 1 points 1 minute ago

Hope they also use that to limit the quantity of food you can buy each month. Like max 5 liters of oil or so, to avoid people that bought to resell.

If their kids get plump they can be used as human shields

Musk, probably

[–] VitoRobles@lemmy.today 9 points 9 hours ago

Not probably. Do you remember Musk around his family?

Sure you do. There's a bunch where he's with his little boy. . When? Oh, right after Luigi happened.

[–] vivalapivo@lemmy.today 5 points 11 hours ago

Yeah, poor will not starve, but at what cost? Stakeholders will not see much profit and the US won't become white ethnostate.

[–] Hueristic_Autistic@lemmy.world 5 points 12 hours ago* (last edited 12 hours ago) (1 children)

I don't see the problem. I'd rather people be able to afford to eat and feed their families.

Anyone who has a problem with affordable groceries, in a period of time where the cost of living outweighs being able to afford groceries; can go fuck themselves with a rusty Trident.

Who the fuck downvoted THIS???

[–] umbraroze@slrpnk.net 23 points 18 hours ago (1 children)

Elon Musk literally bragged that if anyone could prove $6B could end world hunger, he'd spend it. UN was, like, yeah. He, of course, dropped the conversation right then and there.

[–] Zink@programming.dev 12 points 14 hours ago

Yeah but can you imagine the humiliation if it didn't work and he accidentally just saved millions of lives without getting rid of 100.0% of the problem?

[–] llama@lemmy.zip 29 points 20 hours ago (1 children)

What is the irony? That he thinks the original plan was to give away food for free then they realized they have to charge something? I'm pretty sure charging something was always the plan just not with the intent of a for profit model.

[–] Hadriscus@jlai.lu 6 points 7 hours ago (1 children)

I've been trying to figure out,... my conclusion is that he doesn't know what irony means

[–] Lost_My_Mind@lemmy.world 1 points 45 minutes ago

Maybe Alannis Moreset can teach him.

[–] antiphon@lemmy.world 8 points 15 hours ago (1 children)

Are we legally allowed to pray to St. Luigi in regards to Musk? I hope similar actions can happen.

[–] Lost_My_Mind@lemmy.world 1 points 44 minutes ago

Religion has often been banned throughout history when it challenges an authoritys place of power.

[–] Lushed_Lungfish@lemmy.ca 11 points 18 hours ago

Well I'm upset that Musk is still breathing.

[–] BaraCoded@literature.cafe 12 points 21 hours ago

Praying St Luigi

"How dare they undercut billionaires! And at such a vital time too! They were making more profits than ever"

[–] liking625@lemmy.world 22 points 1 day ago (1 children)

He sounds as he pretends to be smart, but he just shows as a scumbag

[–] tio_bira@lemmy.dbzer0.com 8 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Pretend is the right word, musk is a imbecile who have the achievement to be rejected by some of the evilest scum on earth, who is a bunch of racist pedophiles who make profit from people misery, but there's other assholes who are even more stupid than him and ketamine lord is able to capitalize and weaponize those morons.

[–] JcbAzPx@lemmy.world 8 points 23 hours ago (1 children)

So far as I can tell, his only actual contributions to any of his companies are the cybertruck, a tunnel that taxis people a distance that's faster to walk, and making an AI a racist pedophile.

[–] aesthelete@lemmy.world 4 points 21 hours ago

The cybertruck is so fucking stupid. I don't know how it's going to turn out but the slate truck looks like it's trying to be everything Tesla's truck should've been.

B…but muh free market economy

[–] TheDemonBuer@lemmy.world 221 points 1 day ago (26 children)

I don't understand. What's ironic about a socialist opening some city owned grocery stores?

[–] nao@sh.itjust.works 6 points 20 hours ago

The irony is, he's calling something irony and no one understands what he means.

[–] ZDL@lazysoci.al 55 points 1 day ago (10 children)

The irony is that Musk, self-proclaimed super genius, doesn't know what irony is while calling things ironic.
