I’m trying to stay away from Reddit. The only thing bringing me back is the mega thread on r/piracy. Does this community have something like that?

I gave up Reddit before I knew about Lemmy ngl. I didn't even use it that much, but Reddit is already walling off like X does and I hate that. Lemmy is so much better, even if a bit smaller than Reddit.

I still call it Twitter

The people who ran that mega thread actually mothballed it and recommend Free Media Heck Yeah now.

The wiki with more general advice and FAQ stuff is here: https://wiki.dbzer0.com/piracy/

may i ask for source? i thought that was this lemmy community's wiki (on wiki.dbzer0.com) and not the reddit r/piracy's one (or are the mods here ex-r/piracy mods?)

The wiki on r/piracy links here explicitly as their fallback forum and it's on the wiki here that the megathread is no longer advised as they weren't updating it often enough. My understanding is it's the same people moderating both.

Use a redlib instance if you must such as https://redlib.canine.tools/ and view posts, and stay away from active participation in the cesspool?

Yeah, redlib is great. Can subscribe and filter subs without needing an account, and I think compact + wide setting looks better than default reddit with it looking closer to old.reddit layout without all the wasted side padding.

From my experience you can scrape the top 100 posts gather the top 100 jokes and feed it into bots to repost randomly it’s the same comment section experience.

Bookmark the megathread then post #FuckSpez wherever you want. You'll find yourself using reddit a lot less quickly enough.
