I talk with my neighbors but I live in a condo so we see them in the hall or on the elevator or in the garage or around the outside of the property.

Talking to neighbors... Always awkward right?

But during the big COVID lockdowns in the Shanghai, I suddenly was forced to know them and we all formed a more cohesive community in our situation together, trading food and goods, cooking for each other, etc etc. The lockdowns sucked but the situation led to neighborhood chat groups and organized community events. Elevator conversation even stopped being awkward.

It was the one nice thing about that horrible situation
