It’s the U.S. equivalent of cheap N. Korea propaganda videos.

[–] iAvicenna@lemmy.world 11 points 1 day ago

this screenshot looks more like the beginning of something else. I wonder where they trained their AI model on hmm...

I noticed Youtube try to push one about Trump petting a cat. Reported it for abuse.

[–] unphazed@lemmy.world 5 points 1 day ago

Someone really needs to do clips from Hogan Knows Best but with a superimposed MTG in response.

[–] axh@lemmy.world 24 points 2 days ago (3 children)

Why does this screenshot looks like from a cheap porn?

[–] xorollo@leminal.space 4 points 1 day ago

That's just how MAGA likes their women.

[–] mEEGal@lemmy.world 6 points 1 day ago

gets them clicks

Are you starting an aneurysm?

Republican reality is artificial and unsustainable. It will take a long time but fascists always lose in the end.

Fascists always lose in the end

The Kim family has had almost 3 full generations of not facing any consequences for their actions in NK. The Saudi royal family has been living it up in luxury for decades. Sorry, but I think your statement is childishly idyllic and not reflective of the real world.

Karma doesn't exist. The good guys dont always win. Some of the most evil people imaginable will die peacefully in their sleep at the age of 90, wealthy, and surrounded by family that loves them.

[–] gargolito@lemm.ee 2 points 1 day ago (1 children)

You confuse history with karma. Authoritarians don't outlast humanity. The "real world" bends in centuries, not decades. Your attempt at an argument is myopic and unsophisticated.

[–] phoenixz@lemmy.ca 8 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Yeah no, he also has a point.

Humanity may survive but that is the same as saying not to worry about climate change because Earth will survive; it's of little help to me here, right now

The reality of the situation is that you don't know. Just because history worked in a certain way doesn't mean the future will, especially with the rapid changes we're facing today

[–] gargolito@lemm.ee 1 points 1 day ago (2 children)

Every single authoritarian in history has fallen out faded away. Every single one. Will you and/or I see it? Probably not, although I hope that we are close to a cusp in history. The pendulum has been artificially pushed to the right, the current status has been built on lies and deceit - it can't be sustained.

[–] I_Has_A_Hat@lemmy.world 1 points 3 hours ago* (last edited 3 hours ago)

The Roman empire still has a long lasting legacy to this day. There is a reason so many countries have the eagle on their standard. And where do you think the month August comes from? The empire as a whole is looked upon fondly in history, despite being one built from conquest and authoritarian rule, with its leaders still praised to this day.

I really don't think your take on the lasting effects of authoritarianism matches with reality.

[–] Lembot_0001@lemm.ee 18 points 2 days ago (2 children)

Only if they are stupid enough to start a war. Internationally peaceful fascists tend to rule until they are bored or die from old age.

[–] Fredthefishlord@lemmy.blahaj.zone 7 points 1 day ago (1 children)

The intersection of people who become fascist and people who don't want to declare war is small

[–] StJohnMcCrae@slrpnk.net 6 points 1 day ago

Argentina and Spain are good examples. Peron and Franco organized ratlines for Nazis fleeing the Nuremberg trials.

[–] PurpleTentacle@lemmy.world 5 points 2 days ago (2 children)

And that sample size is pretty small. I wouldn't count on the US losing a war.

[–] Overspark@feddit.nl 12 points 2 days ago (1 children)

Well the trade war isn't going great for them...

[–] Hansae@lemmy.dbzer0.com 2 points 2 days ago (1 children)

America wouldnt come off very well in a 1v1 with China tbh I doubt either side would win but Alas.

[–] StJohnMcCrae@slrpnk.net 0 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago) (1 children)

How so? China has a manpower advantage, but they don't have the capability to project that advantage beyond the mainland/local territorial waters. In what way would America not "come off well", when the enemy has no credible way of actually getting to us, and no way of supporting it's economy without international trade? Are they going to island hop from one American defensive position to the next, all the way across the Pacific, while also securing shipping lanes through the Indian ocean for the oil to make that possible?

Sounds like a bad time - for them.

[–] Hansae@lemmy.dbzer0.com 1 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Im talking about the actual conflict zone, I dont think either side would be able to actually take ground in the others homeland but rather the militaries of both powers would maul eachother quite badly to a stalemate.

[–] StJohnMcCrae@slrpnk.net 0 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago)

A stalemate where China is locked into its territorial waters and has to rebuild its military while suffering a military blockade, medium and long range bombardment - while America retains freedom of navigation and inter-continental trade?

Doesn't sound like a stalemate to me. It sounds like a slow death. China is even more reliant on trade than we are and in a hot war, they lose the majority of their trading partners.

What does America lose?

[–] Deceptichum@quokk.au 86 points 2 days ago (3 children)

So churn out more monstrous and bile forming videos about them.

AI is a two edged street.

[–] Ebby@lemmy.ssba.com 40 points 2 days ago

You only get takedown notices for negative content. It's the new and improved Free Speech Censorship®

[–] db2@lemmy.world 40 points 2 days ago (1 children)

AI is a two edged street.

Brilliant. 🤣

[–] FenrirIII@lemmy.world 4 points 2 days ago

He's streets ahead

[–] hOrni@lemmy.world 13 points 2 days ago

These already exist without AI.

Soon there will be Byzantine icons of Marjorie Greene breast feeding baby Jesus

'But trump was on the phone with insurance companies to hurricane victims! Trump personally delivered truckloads of supplies! Trump gifted his salary to-'

And on... and on... and on... forever the anticdote of 'personal genorosity' while it's clear these human cesspits spew hatrid and worship personal greed.

Those kind of anticdotes are what my family use to defend the man. These 'proofs' that he's just a decent guy getting harassed by the world.

[–] XeroxCool@lemmy.world 5 points 2 days ago

A decent guy giving to the right people. Ask them if the US government gave enough monetary relief to the Carolininas after their hurricane last year. At some point later, ask if the government gave enough to New Orleans. They'll flip from saying the mountain folk deserve more but New Orleans is at its own fault for not repairing the levys.

Or don't ask. You'll get a dumb answer at best, a racist answer at worst. Either way, it's not going to be productive unless your goal is to hate them more.

[–] hr_@lemmy.world 7 points 2 days ago

I think you mean anecdotes my friend

[–] brucethemoose@lemmy.world 23 points 2 days ago* (last edited 2 days ago)

I posit the central flaw is the engagement system, which was AI driven long before LLM/diffusion was public. The slop is made because it sells in that screwed up, toxic feed.

If engagement-driven social media doesn't die in fire, the human race will.

[–] shawn1122@lemm.ee 5 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Anyone have a link to the video? Looking for a good laugh.

[–] shawn1122@lemm.ee 20 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago)

Found it, for anyone reading don't bother. It is still images with an AI voiceover. I was hoping for half baked AI generated video.

[–] clearedtoland@lemmy.world 35 points 2 days ago (1 children)

Tired as Orwellian comparisons are, it’s hard to ignore how much this reeks of a Ministry of Truth.

[–] db2@lemmy.world 17 points 2 days ago (1 children)

It's only a conspiracy if they're not really out to get you.

[–] unconsciousvoidling@sh.itjust.works 6 points 2 days ago* (last edited 2 days ago)

These mentally unstable people are definitely out to get a lot of us. The domestic terrorists are in charge.

[–] beejjorgensen@lemmy.sdf.org 14 points 2 days ago

Musk running illegal generators at his A1 farm... Coincidence?

[–] henfredemars@infosec.pub 19 points 2 days ago (2 children)

Perfect for the AI Jesus crowd.

[–] drzoidberg@lemmy.world 14 points 2 days ago (2 children)

I dunno what AI is, do you mean A1 Jesus crowd?

[–] massive_bereavement@fedia.io 8 points 2 days ago

Some delicious A1.

[–] AmidFuror@fedia.io 5 points 2 days ago

That story had such a two Corinthians vibe to it!

Praise be to shrimp Jesus.

[–] ScrambledEggs@lazysoci.al 9 points 2 days ago

Of course it's AI. It doesn't happen in real life
