A "Showerthought" is a simple term used to describe the thoughts that pop into your head while you're doing everyday things like taking a shower, driving, or just daydreaming. The most popular seem to be lighthearted clever little truths, hidden in daily life.

If you made it this far, showerthoughts is accepting new mods. This community is generally tame so its not a lot of work, but having a few more mods would help reports get addressed a little sooner.
Whats it like to be a mod? Reports just show up as messages in your Lemmy inbox, and if a different mod has already addressed the report, the message goes away and you never worry about it.

People need to start kidnapping and disappearing:

Just dress up as ICE, bust down their doors, and haul them off. If they try to show a birth certificate or passport, grab it from them, tear it in half, and call it a fake.
White Christian conservatives need to learn that they will not come out of this unscathed. They need to know that they are just as vulnerable as anyone else, and that they themselves are a minority group in this country. We need to put the fear of God in these bastards. That's the only way this will ever end.
Next page in this playbook is fixing disproportionate domestic violence against women by beating men, and fixing disproportionate institutional racism by arresting more white men on bullshit charges. I think the underlying problems will just find a new outlet.

I mean the evangelical security guard last known registered as a Republican, best friend said was Republican, and spoke out openly against pro choice democrats to the extent of making a list and murdering families and injuring others was actively voiced as being left leaning by the media simply because it helps their narrative. I don't think they are looking to verify anything.

They're going after the wrong people. They should be disappearing Republican politicians, accusing them of secretly being illegal aliens.
Maybe if that happened ICE would actually start identifying themselves.

The crazy part is at this point in American history, you'd have a high chance of getting away with it all.
There are lots of stories about this.
But, those are the ones we know about. Are there others we don't? I'd say it's certain.
For a serial killer, this has to be a gift from the gods. Get some gear from an army surplus store, cover your face, kidnap and kill someone, hide the body, and everyone will just assume that they were deported and lost in the system.

- Find 2 people to help you
- Cover your faces
- Drive to your victim, jump out, shout “ICE, you are ~~under arrest~~ being deported” and throw the victim into the van
All people around you will think that nothing unusual is happening, they do not even need to get a disguese or something, and nobody would care if ICE are the ones who do the deports.
I wrote something very similar a few days ago. It can't be the us government hasn't realised how dangerous it is till now.
