Churchill was a monster. He killed millions of Indians during his time, he took all the food away from the poor indians for this own country men during WW2

Then he complained about indians breeding too much!! That guy was no better than hitler according to the whole of south asia

Exactly, but most of the west reveres him

[–] brown_guy@lemm.ee 15 points 6 days ago

Yeah because neither the British media or any other European media talked about this

The British didn't even apologise for Jallianwala Bagh massacre, so there is no chance of anyone talking about Churchill's real face

I'd like to disagree here. Most people think he was good for the UK and Europe during WW2, but definitely not beyond reproach. Very few actually revere him. Just some very old racist Brits would be my guess.

That said, the UK still has a lot to answer for wrt colonialism especially in India.

they didn't even need the stolen food to feed their men

I'd say most of them if we knew the full story.

Who the fuck thinks Steve Jobs was a hero during his lifetime?

Rhetorical question, I know these people exist.

James Dean

Not even sure he wasn't a villain during his lifetime already; but it's easy to adore someone who died so young.
