Don't hate me for saying this but this looks like a plain European city to me, aside from a few outliers. Good job NYC.
I can breathe! I can walk, relaxed, on a city street! No fight, no flight. I’m beginning to feel alive again…
It is. I can walk 10 min from my apartment in Germany, and have a similar view
When you're right, you're right.
Woah, it looks like an alternative reality, and the city is so alive it even feels fake. So look at those bros, congratulating each other with pats on the back. Like a tv set.
The business on this street must be making a killing in profits, and not a single parking spot or car lane in sight!
Most business owners seem to be the first to complain when lanes of traffic are removed along the street they face, or parking spots are removed. The argument always seems to be sales will go down and shopper traffic will decrease.
Now this is what living in a city should be! Congratulations NYC and the people that supported this right from the beginning!
It's amazing something like the image below is considered "normal"
There are so many street flairs in NYC, they are great.
Unfortunately no anti-tank barriers to keep people safe.
Otherwise, very good idea.
The way it should be 😀
Ohhh I miss St Mark’s! It’s such a great area to go shopping and eating. I haven’t been there in over a decade, but I remember having a great time at a punk fashion shop.
I don’t think they did the street closing when I was there, it looks fantastic.
