Today I learned that there is magazine in Nicaragua called "Stalin Magazine". Very based.

Context: this is the latest publication from the magazine and it communicates Nicaragua's stance in solidarity with Venezuela against the latest increase by the Yankee regime of the reward for the arrest of Maduro.

I was looking for information on the Provisional IRA on wikipedia and I saw that Wikipedia added a note saying that the information on the page was provided by the CIA.

Thanks, Wikipedia, for warning me to ignore it.

I heard someone comparing the western media's downplay of the gaza famine (genocide) with the "ccp" downplaying the "man-made famines" under mao and I had to scream into a pillow. So much for touching grass.

[–] frippa@lemmy.ml 8 points 1 week ago

Clearly pissrael's genocide is raising life expectancy and building up Gaza's productive forces!

Had a tour of the arts in the city last saturday when many museums opened their doors at night as a special event. A lot of paintings were about the golden age of Antwerp around the 1500-1600 period in which it was one of, if not the most important city in the world. It was the largest European city after Paris at the time.

You'd think: 'wow that's cool' until you realise many of these things were achieved because of colonialism and slave trade. As is always the case in Europe.

My (near) burnout phase seems to continue. I hoped after the weekend was done and after spending a week at home it would be better but I can't shake the anxious feeling I have, which sucks. There's also this feeling of guilt that comes with it, for me at least, because I keep thinking about how so many people in this world have it worse than I do and they keep on going, so why can't I? But that's not a good mentality to have, of course.

With some of the extreme summers we have had last years you almost forget what the weather is supposed to be over here: clouds, some sun, 22 degrees Celsius, rain. It's how this specific corner of the earth became a very habitable one in the first place. But since it's not 28-30+ degrees and blaring sun, people are now saying we have a shit summer. I'm glad the weather is 'normal' for a few weeks now.

[–] frippa@lemmy.ml 4 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Same thing in southern Europe. This summer has basically been in reverse, we touched 40c in June and we are now comfortably in the 25-30c range. IDK about you or other people but I would give my first born son to have all summers be like august has been so far.

Also 30/40 years ago, before climate change became so extreme, all summers used to be like this. I vividly remember when we reached 40c for the first time and I was shocked, it's normal now.

[–] SlayGuevara@lemmygrad.ml 5 points 1 week ago

It's nice to not melt away in my own home every day. I'll never forget our first 40+ degree day some years ago while working in an office that had mandatory long sleeve shirt + pants rules. Without AC. Felt like dying.

Let's actively incorporate scientific research achievements into production!

New DPRK poster.

Also, Pride Week in my city this week. I ordered a subtle ACAB shirt and I intend to wear it. Not sure if I participate in the parade or if I'll just watch though.

There's this Dutch sex pest dude that is having a niche popularity on youtube. He visits Thailand and surroundings and has a vlog of whatever he is doing there. Very mysoginistic of course and as I said he is a literal sex pest.

But he has these rare moments in his vlog in which he talks about life that make me think he is very aware of how the capitalist system works. He just started taking the wrong conclusions and is doing this with his life instead of improving it. Basically taking the individualist approach instead of organising. It's very weird to see, but also from a sociologist POV very interesting. Fuck the guy though.

Lowkey will start rocking young Mao haircut, i think it fits my head shape and hair somewhat. His hair was great before his hairline receded.

Been gone a while because I've been dealing with royal pain in the ass government and health insurance burocracy, the stress makes it hard to find time to think about anything else. I can't imagine what it's like in the US where the same sort of matters could put you in debt for life, jfc.

There finally is an increase in attention for femicide in The Netherlands. Every 8 days a woman gets killed.

Sadly the attention is because the femicides happen.

From this logic, the Western European and British diaspora are not in danger of job thief from immigrants of non-European ancestry because they still have employment of many European diaspora in their respective country. We can also assume that they are one homogenous group of lazy alcoholic drop outs who cannot survive without the free child slaves in the Indian Residential fake Schools or the inheritance thief and child smuggling from the fake cultural assimilation projects of Indigenous children. The Western Europeans and European diaspora who complain that immigrants are taking over their country are exaggerating to gain victim points contrary to their victim blaming policy. Will any holocaust deniers apply this victim blaming logic on their own people?

[–] KrupskayaPraxis@lemmygrad.ml 6 points 1 week ago

Holocaust denial and Palestinian Genocide denial are the same strategy

I want to delete my former Reddit account from when I was a lib, so I've been saving posts and comments as files. Then I deleted comments and posts where I have different opinions than I have now. This way nobody can be convinced by my past opinions anymore. Deleting these also makes sure they can't be used for training AI in the future. I'm deleting those posts and comments seperately because when you delete your account, you don't automatically delete your posts and comments.

Attending the Pride Parade in the city today. I will not participate in it this year but still watching with my ACAB shirt lol. Always a blast when the pride is in town. Lots of cool people around.

Tonight I will go to a football match though which at this point is basically the polar opposite of a Pride Parade. Maybe it even classifies as a straight parade lol.

[–] KrupskayaPraxis@lemmygrad.ml 4 points 1 week ago (1 children)

True. All those people complaining about there not being a straight parade just need to go to their local football match lol. Unless it's a women's match, then it's a lesbian meetup.
