Wild to me that the fox thought a street was a good napsite. Maybe it was raised in captivity, and has no concept of "prolly not a good place to crash"

Had the same thought. Kind of heartbreaking that it chose to sleep on pavement instead of the pile of leaves in the background

Pavement does heat up more in the sun. Might have been a mainly sunny day.

This is fair. I was just thinking that my short haired dog wouldn't sleep on pavement, but it could be something else

[–] Poem_for_your_sprog@lemmy.world 12 points 2 months ago

My short haired dog loves to lay on the concrete in the sun when it's 40C.

The reversed right side of the thumbnail looks so much like AI slop.

I was very certain that it was as well but it looks like it's just weirdly smoothed after being downscaled. Here's a source with a higher quality image: https://www.radiozwickau.de/beitrag/ausgebuexter-polarfuchs-haelt-nickerchen-in-weisskeissel-770885/

Edit: Or follow the link OP provided, I initially didn't see that.

They can't escape because their sedentary lifestyle has taken away their independence!

Just like us! 🥰

[–] Emi@ani.social 7 points 2 months ago

That's scarily true.

If I was walking home and I saw that in the middle of the road I would 100% think it was a lost puppy and take it home, give him some food, lots of pets and only then to the vet to check the chip. Would I make it alive? IDK. But would it be worth it? Yes!

[–] TheBat@lemmy.world 7 points 2 months ago

eeeeeeepy boy
