I am dutch and spend many an hour at the intersection of IT and Privacy ... but this is the wrong community to advertise a local Signal group.

Not selfhosting AND privacy.

So its about self-hosting with certain qualities (not giving up privacy or lockin). Not about privacy in general.

Signal isnt selfhosted and does lock you in, albeit with a high reputation to not become evil.

Mag ik vragen waarom je voor Signal hebt gekozen i.p.v. Matrix, aangezien dat vaak gebruikt wordt op Lemmy?

Wij kozen voor Signal omdat het gebruiksvriendelijker is dan Matrix of SimpleX. Daarbij kunnen vooralsnog de meesten het beste bereiken door middel van Signal. Wel kozen wij voor een alternatieve groep op SimpleX. Die dient dus zover eveneens als backup. Wil je misschien onze groep joinen?
