As funny as this is as a Dad there's absolutely no way I wouldn't wear that out, and yes I'm a muffin.

[–] BangelaQuirkel@lemmy.world 11 points 1 month ago

Ohhh you thought he was a man - but he was a muffin

[–] TheGiantKorean@lemmy.world 41 points 1 month ago (1 children)

If I had a kid and if we were muffins I would wear the shit out of that.

Why all these conditions? Just be a good father already!

[–] TheGiantKorean@lemmy.world 14 points 1 month ago (1 children)

I mean, I would need a kid. But I get what you're saying.

[–] Dagnet@lemmy.world 21 points 1 month ago

More excuses, just grab a random kid!

I'm a dad and can confirm wearing muffin tops comes with the job.

I don’t get what the intended message was here. Is it just supposed to be funny picture or is there some deeper meaning behind it?

Because from what I can see muffin of value is going on here.

The baby muffin scribbled words of admiration on his dad’s wrapper. He sees it, and doesn’t want to take it to work. Next panel suggests he’s about to change his mind from seeing his son’s disappointment - but then last panel switches it up, having him steal his son’s wrapper, put him in the one he drew on, and head off.

The last panel is the one that makes no sense. What's the deal with stealing the son's wrapper? Still a feelbad moment for the son.

Wait... So he takes his kid's pants and makes the kid wear what, I assume, are the gift pants the kid made his father? That seems all sorts of mean.

Does anyone else just find this sad?

[–] ghen@sh.itjust.works 5 points 1 month ago

It screams Boomer to me.

[–] RejZoR@lemmy.ml 12 points 1 month ago

That's what I call a proper muffin top!

Actual original comic:

My little one made me a Keychain for Father's Day one year. I still have that in the see through compartment of my work bag. I see it every day I go to work. Cherish every little gift.

I'm not sure if the creator made two versions, but if you google, there's a wholesome ending <3

[–] Hoimo@ani.social 3 points 1 month ago (1 children)

The original is the wholesome version, OP posted the comedynecromancy edit.

I'm not sure how or why both of you managed to avoid linking the actual original 😅

I mean, that's kind of a joke I guess..?
