India and Pakistan have agreed to an immediate ceasefire after days of military escalation.

US President Donald Trump posted on social media the two nations have agreed to a “full and immediate ceasefire”.

The countries have also agreed to a broader dialogue on various issues.

For the Pakistani side, it will include the very important issue of water because India has suspended its related treaty with Pakistan, which affects the livelihood and agriculture in this country.

My gut feeling : Russia and China sent intelligence reports proving the initial attack was organized by the west and they convinced Modi to calm down.

I feel like if there was concrete evidence of this, someone would've said something. Maybe not China itself but maybe the FSB/RT or something.

Russia's whole strategy has been playing trump against the neo-conservatives clinging to american hegemony.

Keeping it quiet allows trump when confronted, to blame it on rogue cia, neo-cons, and europeans which will further the divide between them.

If Russia goes public then trump has to deny it (or look like he isn't in control) which pushes him closer to the people who hate Russia.

Going public would also make Indian and Pakistani leaders look like chumps for falling for such a simple ploy whereas keeping the secret allows them look like good leaders who are able to stop the violence and negotiate.

India must have been spooked real bad by the air battle outcomes to go from "we'll bomb them all" to ceasefire in less than a week.

Isn't this how this same conflict has happened before? Don't they both bluster about a full on war, some people on both sides die or some things get blown up, then they stop because no one's ready to die in nuclear hellfire just yet? Also cause some intelligence agency from Russia/China points out it was obviously CIA bullshit?

I went out with an Indian lady for years and still have Indian friends (in India) via our relationship with her, and this is of course totally anecdotal, but I was told that the government had hoped for a nationalist response but most people are terrified of ACTUALLY going to war with Pakistan, and men are seriously discussing fleeing to Europe/North America (for the wealthy) or neighboring nations (for the average poor). This isn’t what the Modi regime had hoped for.
