kind of incredible, given that the start up and operating costs of a podcast are less than a potluck book club. this is definitely an embarrassment thing, where somebody tried to sell ad space and the dick pill / sports gambling Head of Promotions was like, "you have six downloads a week. fuck off."

A Club Random podcast hosted by former Limp Bizkit frontman Fred Durst that was initially supposed to focus on UFOs never took off; Semafor could not find any episodes of the show online.

found it and knowing that it's supposed to be Bill it works, but afaict there's no setup or tipoff at the beginning that he's going to be imitating Bill Maher. is there some clue I'm missing?
The set looks exactly like the one for Bill Maher's podcast, if you're familiar with the aesthetic it's obvious, but if you're not familiar I can understand being very confused.
Tim beefs with him enough that if you follow him you know, but not giving it away is part of Tim's act - just like his comedy special.
He has one about Joe Rogan too but it's much more obvious in the style of conversation, camera work, and set layout. Club Random is just so undistinctive that it's harder to tell.
