The rules for posting and commenting, besides the rules defined here for lemmy.world, are as follows:

**No illegal or NSFW or gore content. **

Rule 3- Do not seek mental, medical and professional help here.

Do not seek mental, medical and professional help here. Breaking this rule will not get you or your post removed, but it will put you at risk, and possibly in danger.

Rule 4- No self promotion or upvote-farming of any kind.

That's it.

Rule 5- No baiting or sealioning or promoting an agenda.

Posts and comments which, instead of being of an innocuous nature, are specifically intended (based on reports and in the opinion of our crack moderation team) to bait users into ideological wars on charged political topics will be removed and the authors warned - or banned - depending on severity.

Rule 6- Regarding META posts.

Provided it is about the community itself, you may post non-Reddit posts using the [META] tag on your post title.

Rule 7- You can't harass or disturb other members.

If you vocally harass or discriminate against any individual member, you will be removed.

Likewise, if you are a member, sympathiser or a resemblant of a movement that is known to largely hate, mock, discriminate against, and/or want to take lives of a group of people, and you were provably vocal about your hate, then you will be banned on sight.

Rule 8- All comments should try to stay relevant to their parent content.

Rule 9- Reposts from other platforms are not allowed.

Let everyone have their own content.

Rule 10- Majority of bots aren't allowed to participate here. This includes using AI responses and summaries.

Was that AI generated? That is fucking sick, my dude. I'm gonna save it

This was the straw that broke the camel's back. I remember seeing something a while back on r/coolguides about alternatives for various sites, including Lemmy as an alternative to Reddit. Today, I saw the writing on the wall and decided it was time.

The worst isn't just the Luigi thing, it's that in the future, they will most likely expand it to include any topic that the administration disapproves of.

Welcome, hope you will enjoy your stay as much as I did. Water is just fine over here

Kill one rich guy - complete and utter censorship.

Be a rich guy who is a twice impeached convicted felon presidential traitor making decisions resulting in casualties over the thousands - whoah, now, wouldn't want their feelings to be hurt!

State of the world in a nutshell.

Remember, they're not threatened by Luigi. They're threatened by the fact that so many people love Luigi and what he stands for.

[–] MystikIncarnate@lemmy.ca 1 points 1 month ago

This. He's basically a martyr at this point.

Luigi reminded the people that we have power. We don't need to be subservient to the whims of corporate interests. We can choose to go a different way. He's in jail but millions of people who are inspired by him are roaming free, any of which could become the next Luigi, and wack some CEO who is devoid of empathy or ethics (which is all of them). Anyone could be the perpetrator, anyone could be the target.

It's like a large chunk of the USA is now part of anonymous. Expect us.

(And for anyone who binds anonymous with 4chan, you don't understand anonymous)

The Romans felt threatened because of Jesus.

[–] dexa_scantron@lemmy.world 0 points 1 month ago (1 children)

Well he was super violent.

and Jesus went up to Jerusalem, 14And found in the temple those that sold oxen and sheep and doves, and the changers of money sitting: 15And when he had made a scourge of small cords, he drove them all out of the temple, and the sheep, and the oxen; and poured out the changers' money, and overthrew the tables;

Upvoting that probably gets a ban now.

I like the line by Killer Mike ("Walking in the Snow"), which I think he says he got from Dick Gregory:

"All of us serve the same masters, all of us nothin' but slaves / Never forget in the story of Jesus, the hero was killed by the state".

Powerful stuff.

Edit to add: honestly that whole track rips and is super relevant right now.

Go on Amazon or ebay , select print a custom garden flag.
Upload this picture.
Plant nice garden flag in your yard.

6-10$ max

[–] roguetrick@lemmy.world -1 points 1 month ago (1 children)

Boycott Amazon. Thiel sold his PayPal shares so he shouldn't have a significant stake in eBay anymore so I don't know if they're worth boycotting.

[–] sommerset@thelemmy.club 0 points 1 month ago* (last edited 1 month ago) (1 children)

Look. People been saying that for a decade per my memory. And nothing was done - this tells me your little boycott ain't gonna work.

No - do smarter.

Get a gun.
Fund WFD.
Fund eff. Call your rep and tell them you are done

[–] roguetrick@lemmy.world -1 points 1 month ago

If you think giving Bezos money to fly a flag is praxis and boycotting isn't, I don't really know what to tell you.

[–] kitnaht@lemmy.world 0 points 1 month ago (1 children)

Oh don't worry - Lemmy will soon have people posting child porn, gore, or other things en-masse before reporting the site/domain. I've seen it on almost every Reddit alternative since Digg shut down.

They'll run hit pieces against this place for being extremist, they'll do all sorts of nasty shit.

So first they ignore you. Then they laugh at you. Then they fight you.

[–] Makeshift@sh.itjust.works 0 points 1 month ago (1 children)

I wonder how resistant to that Lemmy will be, with the whole federation thing. Harder to ban it when it’s not just one domain.

[–] lobut@lemmy.ca 0 points 1 month ago (1 children)

Yeah, I mean I barely understand this federated stuff. To my understanding, each instance has their own rules. I can't post nudes on my Lemmy.ca to my understanding. I think if there's an instance that is running "afoul" then the instance I connect with can block the entire instance?

[–] Atelopus-zeteki@fedia.io 0 points 1 month ago (1 children)

Yep, that's how we roll. Others can tell you the details. I'm just an end user. On my end I can block nazi's, or anyone I don't like. u/universalmonk was one, acted so surprised when I blocked and didn't want to explain why. Funny thing, if you can block someone for being an asshat, suddenly they are less encouraged to do that, and have to find a more socially acceptable way to be. Cheers.

[–] barrygoldwater@lemmy.wtf 0 points 1 month ago* (last edited 1 month ago) (1 children)

Links to that? Because I've never seen Universal Monk act surprised when someone blocked him/her.

In fact, he/she often recommended blocking them if you didn't agree with what they said.

[–] Rhoeri@lemmy.world 0 points 1 month ago (1 children)

You should know, right Monk?

[–] barrygoldwater@lemmy.wtf -1 points 1 month ago* (last edited 1 month ago)

All I did was ask for a link showing that UM was surprised or upset that you blocked her/him, because I've never seem them question that before. I always seem to remember them suggesting blocking them, not being upset by it.

I didn't say you were incorrect; i was just asking for proof cuz I've never seen it. It's not like I am super concerned about it or anything. But I don't live on lemmy and have no investment between your feud--or whatever it is--with that person. not a big deal to me either way

[–] Sixtyforce@sh.itjust.works -1 points 1 month ago (2 children)

If I wanted this on my bathroom wall, what's the best website to get it ordered?

[–] Amandine@lemmy.ca 0 points 1 month ago (1 children)

Vistaprint.ca is Netherlands-based and prints all kinds of marketing materials like flags, banners, stickers, flyers, business cards…

While Etsy is a US based platform, there are still small business owners from Canada who can also provide digital printing services on any kind of merch you want.

Amazon is dead to us, there is always an alternative.

[–] Sixtyforce@sh.itjust.works -1 points 1 month ago

Thanks, I'll try their outdoor paperstock for water resistance.

Both will collect your data, Amazon will sell it to the highest bidder, and you’re ultimately supporting a big corporation. DIY

[–] roguetrick@lemmy.world -1 points 1 month ago

I'm sure we have some competent silk screeners here in lemmyland.

[–] canajac@lemmy.ca -1 points 1 month ago

aww Murderers deserve the same end but he's going to rot in jail with his rage instead. Good for us all.
