Are there any privacy or security issues here? Would be using this with Proton Mail, probably . . .

Who uses SMS today? 100% of SMS usage for me last N+1 years is for OTPs and such

I use SMS/RCS. Not everyone uses Signal, and I won't install WhatsApp.

Your carrier knows the contents (and the metadata) of the RCS message since RCS messages on Androids are routed through Google only when the carrier doesn’t supports it.

Yeah, same here. I occasionally I need it to get OTP codes to log into banking sites and whatnot, and it'd be nice not to have to go hunting around for my phone if I don't have it handy.

Ok that's n interesting application, damn I always have my phone around....

But yes, it would be interesting. Point is, I can't think of how I would work unless you replace your phone message app with this one, and thrust it.

For OTPs you might not want to send them by email, emails are a little less secure than SMS (it's easier for a third party to hack your email than to intercept your SMS)

My entire family still talks with eachother over SMS or phone call. Not everyone is on an app :P
