This "former CIA boss" literally doesn't say anything about invasion. LBC have entirely made that up.
He says "focus on Lithuania next".
That doesn't mean invasion at all. Politically focusing on Lithuania would be the only viable option as they're a member of nato.
They don't even share a border with Russia's mainland ffs. Just Kaliningrad. Russia aren't invading a nato country through Kaliningrad, don't be stupid.
You cannot talk to liberals about this. Last time I pointed out that even the article didnt agree with the headline, I was accused of sealioning. And pointing out that Putin isn't a complete fucking moron and is actually capable of forming strategies, regardless of how evil you think he is, just gets ignored
Yup, Lihuania, which is a NATO member whose invasion would require a naval supply line seems like the most likely target
Theoretically they could resupply through Belarus. Any invasion of a Baltic nation would probably require taking the others, but taking Lithuania would let them isolate Latvia and Estonia, forify Kaliningrad, and create a more defensible boarder with Poland.
Regardless, I don't believe Russia is looking to escalate. At least not until Ukraine is buttoned up. I have been wrong before, but I think Putin is smart enough to avoid declaring war on NATO while in the middle of another attritional war.
Invading Lithuania would mean invading NATO in general. Their opening move would have to be closing the Suwałki Gap from both sides, which means they'd actually be starting with Poland. Belarus would have to accept being a full part of the war at that point.
Of course none of that is going to happen, because Russia doesn't want World War 3.
That subreddit is actually crazy, like a bunch of lemmings thinking they're fucking napoleon
Don't siege Leningrad, just take it!
Zerg rush, baby! Works two outta every three times!
If putin actually invades this highest per capita SS collaborator "country" I will forgive him for being an irredeemable liberal.
OK Google, what is Lithuanian for 'Slava?'
Gonna get out there and make shirts ahead of time?
"allegedly" doing some real heavy lifting here
Libs act as if the CIA reports intelligence to the public like they're NOAA - especially "former" CIA. And so the vaporous allegation becomes something of sufficient substance as to be "revealed"
I don't find it believable that anyone would willingly focus on that repulsive place.
That's how I feel when libs are like, "they're coming for Poland next!"
Trust me bro, we just need 5% more GDP in funding, just 5% more, c'mon bro
nice that we're getting this information straight from the CIA horse's mouth, instead of having it filtered through lib mainstream media
it's something to do
I’m in a group chat with a bunch of liberals and they unironically and uncritically believe every last word of this slop every single time.
The Suwalki Gap between Poland and Lithuania is a very real potential flashpoint, but Russia is not going to randomly invade unless they are provoked.
